Lead is the main use of battery manufacturing and underground communication cables lead isolation is another important area of consumption. Corrosion-inhibiting lead oxide coatings have found significant applications in the coating of cables, in the formation of lead-free tetraethyl and tetramethyl forms as octane-regulating compounds, in the protection of x-rays due to the least amount of radiation, in the construction of color television tubes and in the manufacture of ammunition.
Zinko Our lead and zinc mining business is continuing to grow with new investments. While the high grade portion of the produced oxidized ore is sold as a minimum of 25% rich zinc ore; low grade fraction and all of the sulfuric ore are exported in our flotation facilities after the end of 2006. Sulfuric lead-silver ore over 5 million tons has been identified in the drilling work and reserve increase studies are continuing rapidly.
