richlea lentils are very famous in parts of europe and the middle east. This variety of the green lentil family is the medium size that is grown. It has a light green covering and is used in soups and has a relatively neutral flavor.

small green lentil (eston)
this variety of the green lentil family is the smallest size that is grown. It has a light green covering and its low starch and color content makes clear soups and is also used in salads. Eston lentils are very popular in morocco and other african countries and also preferred in some of the european and south american countries.

Red whole lentil
whole red lentils are 12 cm wide with a mild, earthy flavor and soft texture. These whole lentils have a deep orange-red color cotyledon. They are used in some communities as the whole lentil but the majority are dehulled and split. They are a staple food for many south asian, arab and african cultures.

red football lentil
the red footballs are also made from the whole red lentil. The skin is removed from the lentil, leaving the inside portion of the seed whole. The result is a reddish-orange product which is largely used in the preparation of many daals or lentil soups by pakistanis, indians, bangladeshis, arabs and many other cultures. It is one of the most popular varieties.
