TDF Specifications :

  • Mill – Steel Production : TDF is introduced to the blast furnace in a dual role, as scrap steel and as a replacement for fossil fuel. The steel in the tyre chip combines with the iron ore to produce new steel. The emissions profile meets with rigorous environmental industry standards.
  • Kiln – Cement Production : TDF replaces coal. The steel in the tyre chip becomes a raw material replacement in the cement manufacturing process and forms part of the cement itself.
  • Other Uses : TDF is further processed to produce finished crumb material which is used in the production of soft fall playgrounds, tile adhesives, sporting surfaces, brake pads and explosive applications in mining.
